ARTworkSF sponsors Life Drawing Sessions and Artist's Critique Group at Hotel Cosmo - "San Francisco's newest arts hotel".

DATES: These groups are ongoing on alternating Saturdays. You should email to confirm and sign up, inquire about models, etc.

Art making is a solitary, individual activity. Artists create alone and in isolation, often without input nor suggestion. But in gathering together in critique meetings artists can show and share their work with other artists to get - and to give - input and insight; as a way to learn, grow, develop and evolve in one's work. Artists can explore the issues and problems in their art work, engaging each other in open discussion of individual artistic goals. Artists can help each other develop, understand and explore each others'visions. And in this coming together, perhaps, begin in the grassroots building of personal artistic community.

San Francisco mixed media artist, James Walsh will facilitate but you will be required to participate. This is not an art class or demonstration. Please bring 1, 2, or 3 pieces of your recent work to share and an open, kind mind. We will together view and discuss each other's work in turn, in an informal, open ended format.

Come draw for 3 hours in a very large, beautiful space with great light!
Short and long poses, with clothed and costumed models. Some booked through the Bay Area Model's Guild. *No instruction provided (Instruction is available if booked separately, and 3 days in advance)

WHAT TO BRING: Drawing supplies (dry mediums only), easel if you want or you can use the provided tables and chairs, a sheet or cloth to protect rug if using charcoal or pastels.

COST: ARTworkSF Members are always FREE ~ and NON-members are also FREE if you:
1) RSVP by Wednesday before saturday session;***
2) Include in your RSVP whether you need a table + chair, space for easel, or 2 chairs (so we can plan how to set up the room)
3) Complete a short survey about the model before leaving
OTHERWISE, $8 @ Door (but any donations to pay for model appreciated if you're a RSVP freebie)

OTHER: *No instruction provided. No photography. Cell phones off. Arrive on time or find a comfortable place until the next break. During break, ask the proctor (Laura) for assistance with chairs/tables/space, etc.

***HOWEVER due to organizational constraints, we cannot honor your next request for free reserved space if you have been a previous no show.
